An Inconvenient Duke

An Inconvenient Duke (Lords of the Armory #1) by Anna Harrington ⭐⭐⭐💫 /5 Danielle has been keeping secrets and now her deceased bast friends brother is back in London looking for answers. Will she be able to give him the answers he’s looking for or will she accidentally give him her heart in the bargain! Marcus Braddock, now the Duke of Hampton has returned from the war as a hero. Yet, this hero can’t rest until he finds out the truth about the mysterious death of his sister that occurred two years ago, while he was at war. The most logical place to start looking for the truth is with his sisters elusive best friend… she seems to know more that she is will to share… I enjoyed this story at about the half way point… until then I was finding the story a little slow and hard to keep my interest. BUT- as I say, once Marcus and Danielle kick into high gear investigating and romancing this story perked up! I was really glad I heard on until the end, because it was pretty

All is going well until her family decides its time to give her a London season… Just when she thinks that is enough of to contend with at the moment, one of her former suiters (and herbest kept secret) comes out of the woodwork intending to blackmail Lady Gwen!  In need of protection from her blackmailer, Lady Gwen’s brother enlists the handsome and illusive estate gamekeeper to stand in as her bodyguard. Joshua Wolfe may not be as whole as he was before  he was placed on half-pay from the army, but he is still as observant and one hell of a crack shot. This could work to Lady Gwens benefit! This is a fun continuation of the series> I really enjoyed the brooding her

Chasing Cassandra

Review: Chasing Cassandra by Lisa Kleypas ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐  /5 The presumed final book of The Ravenels series begins just after the wedding of Cassandra’s twin sister Pandora (book 3, Devil in Spring), where the protagonists first meet. The story continues to weave a slow chase with sporadic run-ins to finally catch us up to where we last saw the Ravenels in book 5, The Devils Daughter. Genius entrepreneur, Tom Serverin has not made it easy on himself to gain the hand of the beautiful Cassandra. Even as a family friend to Devon and Wes Ravenel, he can’t seem to convince them or Cassandra of his suitability to make her happy. Yet, this is all his own doing, he has frozen his heart and cannot love, the only thing Cassandra wants to be happy. A Lisa Kleypas series book is like a good catch up with old friends and this book had me hooked from the beginning. I raced through the the years long “courtship” from afar and enjoyed finally catching up with the goings on of Cassandra. No
