The cost ends up having some delightful bonuses, when she entices the Duke of Rotherby into inviting her while posing as Lady Whitfield, to his “Shark Tank” (US) or “Dragon’s Den (CAN) style business summit. There is plenty of business and pleasure to be had! Noel, the Duke of Rotherby, is used to sycophants every where he goes… that’s why he values his friendships with the Union of the Rakes so much. When he finds a similar honesty in Lady Whitfield, it seem he had finally met his match… until is is discovered that the lovely and intelligent lady is not as she appears and has used his influence for her families gain.  This book was. Delight to read. I enjoyed the characters white banter and the steamy station that slowly builds up into an inferno. I am talking about

Agatha is now coming out on a regular basis to check on her rural print works and make the rounds around the town checking on hives with her friend. Eventually the mutual attraction and Agatha admitting that she had preferred the comforts of women as a young women nudges their friendship into the sphere of lovers. This was a facinanting book. The slow burn romance had me sitting on edge to see when Agatha and Penelope would let slip their attraction and take things t the next level. Just as enjo

Hairpin Curves

Hairpin Curves by Elia Winters ⭐⭐⭐⭐ /5 Who doesn’t love a good road trip romance!?!? Is there a better way for two characters to come together then through the tight confinement in a car and the shared experiences through the journey?  Megan and Scarlett were best friends in high school until Scarlett decides at the last minute not to go to the same college as Megan. With hurt feeling they drift apart until five years later when another mutual friend puts then into the position of needing each other again. Megan and Scarlett put their feelings aside and join forces for the ultimate road trip for their friends wedding. I really enjoyed Elia Winters writing. This was the first work of her that I have read and I was swept away with the road trip excitement from the beginning. She created characters that had depth and she continued to dive deeper into them as the story progressed. The relationship between Megan and Scarlett de

She’s Faking It

She’s Faking It by Kristen Rockaway ⭐⭐⭐⭐ /5 Bree Bozeman docent have much going for her. Her life is in shambles. She lives in a dumpy apartment above a garage, she’s drowning in college debt for a program she didn’t even complete and now her car has died along with her minimal source of income. Wow- at lease she can only go up from there- and what is the fastest and easiest why to improve your standing?? By becoming an Instagram influencer! Lol- this book was a real roller coaster of emotions as Bree tries to find purpose in her life. She’s a classic drifter with no focus until she finally loses everything does a true purpose and passion emerge from the rubble. As someone who enjoys using Instagram for my personal and for my book sharing, I found the way the characters became instant influences a bit off. But I totally appreciated the sarcasm used and the reality of the “filter” put on the influencer lifestyle. That is not a real life. That is not a life that gives

Falling for Mr. Townsbridge

Falling for Mr. Townsbridge The Townsbridges, Book 3 by Sophie Barnes ⭐⭐⭐⭐ /5 He’s a a son of a discount and she is the chef on his parents home… a romance between the two of them could never be… or could it! William Townsbridge has returned home for a short repast while in-between work assignments when he comes across the most delectable treat- the new chef. He’s warned by his parents and brothers to stay away, but his romantically inclined sister tries to push them together. Eloise takes pride in her cooking and ability, but knows that to William she can never be what she truly desires, a wife. I enjoyed this novella. Like most novella’s the romance and relationship developed quickly, but it didn’t seemed forced, yet there were points where the story went from A to C and I would have liked to hear about the in-between time. I enjoyed the bumbling Williams attempts to the reluctant chef. The class divide is explored and tested at these two try to find a pla

Fair as a Star

Fair as a Star  Victorian Romantics #1 by Mimi Matthews ⭐⭐⭐⭐ /5 Another fascinating tale of love and romance in Victorian times from Mimi Matthews. Beryl Burnham has returned home to her small village and her fiancΓ© after a year spent in Paris. She’s hiding a secret and is constant fear of discovery… that is until she confides in her long-time friend, village curate and brother to her fiancee, Mark RIvenhall.   Mark RIvenhall has been in love with Beryl for years, way before his elder brother, the local Baron proposed to her. He has had to try to let his love go. Surly a match between a wealthy titled man would be better for Beryl than the life of a vicars wife? This was another delightful historical romance from Matthews. Through this novella, we see both characters try to work towards what is expected for them and flip to do what their heart desires. Her writing as always includes many historical details that give life to the story and characters. The char

Boyfriend Material

Boyfriend Material by Alexis Hall ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ /5 This book had me laughing out loud from the very start! I can’t remember a book that I have read (not a comedy) that had me laughing as much as Luc’s and Oliver had me laughing. Their back and forth conversations, Luc;s inner dialogue and the comical situations he gets himself into made this romance an absolute riot to read.  I have been over stressed with life and dramatic love stories for a while now, so Boyfriend Material was a welcome change.  This story sets up with Luc, the abandoned son of a British rock legend trying to reform his image after another unflattering run-in with the paps. Solution: a squeaky clean boyfriend to redeem with tarnished image. Insteps Oliver. He’s a barrister and almost OCD with his cleanliness and professionalism. If anyone can shine a light on Luc, its Oliver. They go on a disastrous first date, but since they both need this relationship to prove a point in the future, they decide t

Daring and the Duke

Daring and the Duke Bareknuckle Bastards Book #3 by Sarah MacLean ⭐⭐⭐⭐πŸ’« /5 The end of an era. The Bareknuckle Bastards have been ruling the streets of Covent Garden for years and in true Sarah MacLean fashion she wraps up this series with a bang! I feel like I have enjoyed this series more after each book I read. They each built upon each other and developed the characters further and allowed the reader to further understand their motivation as the books continued.  Daring and the Dukes focus on Grace and Ewan wraps up the underlying story arch of the great deception of the Duke of Marwick against his three bastard sons and the daughter born by his wife.  This was ture story of betrayal (on multiple levels), lost love, revenge, second chances and redemption. Grace and her brothers, Devil, Beast and Ewan bonded as children and were thick as thieves in the face of their father’s cruelty. When Grace, Devil and Beast escape, leaving Ewan with their father a

The Heir Affair

The Heir Affair by Heather Cocks & Jessica Morgan ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ /5 πŸ‘©‍❤️‍πŸ‘¨ Nick and Bex are just your average couple escaping to the countryside after their wedding… ok, not so average. Nick happens to be second in line for the British throne and his marriage to American, Bex ended in the the exposure of a sex scandal with his brother! 😳🀯 πŸ™ƒ Welcome to royal married life.  When your marriage starts on on such a low point, the only place to go is up or divorce court! πŸ’™ What a captivating story! I can easily say that I am a lover of royal families and this modern day fictional tale grabs you from the beginning and holds on to you til the end πŸ˜ƒ . I felt like a scandal sheet addict 🀦‍♀️ waiting for my next newsflash πŸ—ž whenever I tried to put the book down.  Authors Cocks and Morgan did an excellent job creating characters you could root for and a storyline that had you eagerly turning the pages. Their portrayal of family Matriarch, Queen Eleanor w
