The Wedding Wager

The Wedding Wager by Eva Devon ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5 The Duke of Chase can’t see a woman in trouble and not act, so when he sees the father of Lady Victoria Kirby wagering off his daughters hand to a known reprobate, he jumps in to win the wager… earning himself a wife he never planned for! This should be ok, sure he never planned to marry or sire children and he’s a known rake, but Chase is certain he can forge an understanding with his new wife where they can both be happy living their own lives… That plan goes up in smoke shortly after meeting the notorious harridan. Victory is free with her thoughts and extremely intelligent - not the pain wallflower he expected! Chase is down to her intelligence and forward thinking ways, where Victoria is enthralled by the freedoms Chase promises her in return. All was going well in this marriage of convenience, until their attraction comes to a head and feeling get involved. Neither Chase nor Victoria planned for any of this and it could be the com

Kinsley walks into his gym and knocks him over with her competency! Uber smart + gets things done = very hot! For Griff it’s love at first sight… which is well and good, but now he needs to convince Kinsley, whom happens to be starting a new job in the lab at his companies rival! Lucky for Griff she takes pity on him and answers his dating profile, thus helping him win in her mind and gaining him 6 dates to win her over in Griff’s mind! I’m not usually a fan of insta love, but this instance of love at first sight from smart and quite Griff felt genuine. I loved him trying to give his feelings voice (without scaring Kinsley away) and all of the little actions that represented his l

Intolerable

Intolerable The Pheonix Club, Book 3 by Darcy Burke ⭐⭐⭐⭐ /5 Intolerable is the third book in the Phoenix Club series and tells the much awaited story of Cassandra, Phoenix Club owner’s sister and his best friend and founding member, the Earl of Wexford. Wexford is a rogue and has made a vow not to marry for at least another 3 years… so why does he keep kissing his best friends sister every time they are alone?!? This book had all the secret angst of forbidden attraction between these two as they sneak around while also trying to deny their true feelings for each other. Sparks fly all over the page and in many different contexts in this fun read!! After seeing these two as supporting characters in the past two books, I felt a real kinship with them and found myself totally invested in their relationship. We found and Cassandra both drove me nuts at times with their stubbornness, but that’s to be expected when you’re rooting for your friends to finally see the light and make

The Brightest Star in Paris

The Brightest Star in Paris by Diana Biller ⭐⭐⭐⭐ /5 I was really wondering how author Diana Biller would continue this series, and I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised by the results! This book is a true delight, full of ghosts, family and second chances! 👻 Ghosts - I was surprised how uniquely and seamlessly Biller incorporated ghosts in this follow up to The Rose House Widow! I wondered how it could be done without being redundant or turning the Moore family into a traveling ghostbuster troupe- that is not what happened. The including of the ghosts was very organic and seamless evolution of the ghost story. This book totally gave me a cross between Black Swan and The Sixth Sense vibe!  👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Family - The Moore family is back and supporting Ben this time around. I adore seeing this unique and loving family in all its incarnations! Here we see them helping young Ben recover from PTSD after the war, and again they swoop in to help an older Ben deal with hea

Infamous

Infamous Rebels of the Ton, Book 3 by Minerva Spencer ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5 I have loved Minerva Spencer’s Rebels of the To. Series since the first books cover caught my eye! And I gotta say that I think the books have only gotten better and better as the series has continued! INFAMOUS, the latest in the series was tells amazingly well the story of the series bully who has tormented the heroines from the other 2 books. Usually a villain redemption arc is saved for a man, but this is a female bully telling her side of the story 10 years later and she totally got me on board once her current regret and past circumstances come to light. It truly shows how behind every bully there is more going on… This book brought this series full circle and I couldn’t put it down. From Celia’s fight for redemption to Richard’s sweet and persistent attentions to all the fun and high jinx of a holiday party/ wedding- this book was perfection! Overall, this was an historical romance with great characters, a

Author Annie Rains has a magical way of writing that sweeps you in makes you feel like you are in the small town reading the gossip and drinking the tea with the citizens. A Yuletide Kiss

A Yuletide Kiss by Suzanne Enoch; Amelia Grey; Anna Bennett ⭐⭐⭐⭐ /5 I love a good Christmas anthology, and my favourite part about this one, is the fact that the stories are all interconnected and take place during the same timeframe at a closed inn just before Christmas during a snowstorm. It was really fun to see how the authors would link all these stranded strangers together and see the characters cross over to the different stories!✨ 🌟WHEN WE FINALLY KISS GOODNIGHT by Sabrina Jeffries  This was a nice continuation of the Duke Dynasty series featuring an HEA for Konrad Juncker, the actor playing as a playwright for his friend the Duke of Thornstock. His story is a second chance romance! 🌟 AN UNEXPECTED CHRISTMAS GIFT by Madeline Hunter A man on the hunt for a thief unexpectedly finds romance with the innkeeper who saves him from illness out in the snowstorm. 🌟WHEN STRANGERS MEET by Mary Jo Putney After a young woman is rescued from a bride sale in India and reunit

A Rake Like You

A Rake Like You Linfield Hall, Book #2 by Becky Michaels ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ /5 I was drawn to this book by this beautifully illustrated cover, but I was ensnared by this unique HR story! Kissing Under the Mistletoe

Kissing Under the Mistletoe by Suzanne Enoch; Amelia Grey; Anna Bennett ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ /5 Readers are pretty fortunate this season with so many holiday anthologies releasing ... If the others are up to this standard, it will be a very merry Christmas indeed! 🌟GREAT SCOT by Suzanne Enoch  Romance finally comes for a companion who is in need of a new position. This was. Sweet one that lets readers of the Wild Wicked Highlanders series get a peek into their happily ever afters! I especially loved that these were mature characters - it was so sweet to see them find each other and come to agree on a life for the two of them. 🌟CHRISTMAS AT DEWBERRY HOLLOW by Amelia Grey A dying mans wish brings two people from different worlds together as they search for a Christmas miracle. This closed door romance took a little longer for me to warm up to, but over all the sweetness of the sentiment and the finding of what you didn’t know you were missing melted my heart! 🌟MY MISTLETOE BEAU by Anna
