The Rakehell of Roth

The Rakehell of Roth Everleigh Sisters, Book 2 by Amalie Howard ⭐⭐⭐ /5 We meet our unwilling hero and heroine as they start their married life together. The Marquess of Roth has decided to hedge his inheritance bets and take a wife, while rescuing Lady Isobel from a dreadful match. After a shy performace of the marital act these two don’t see each other for threes years while Roth lives it up in London and Isobel matures in the country… First, I’m not a big fan of the saving our marriage trope. Only in a historical can. Hero dump with wife in the country and live like a bachelor in the city… that is until at the heroine’s biological clock rings the alarm and it’s time for her to show her husband that she’s not the girl he left and get him back. Lord Roth runs hot and cold for Isobel throughout the book and is constantly making her second guess her worth. I found it hard to root for these two. Lady Isobel is headstrong and obstinate, Lord Roth won’t listen to anyone or anythin

The Spinster and the Rake

The Spinster and the Rake Never a Wallflower, Book 1 by Eva Devon ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ /5 Ooooh!!! I love a book that gets right into the action from the first chapter! A matter of mistaken identity finds our icy Duke engaged to a local woman at the edge of genteel respectability when they are found kissing at his ball. Though Thornfield my have the countenance of a block of ice, his sense of honour and duty will not allow him to ignore his responsibilities. This finds our un-likely soon-to-be duchess Georgiana busy learning all the things she will need to know to become a proper and respectable duchess. Our Duke and Duchess may seem like and unlikely paring, but add some  shared interest, honesty and mutual respect and these two are electric. When our icy duke shares his true self and Georgiana accepts all of him, my heart melted!! I was captured by immediately by our arrogant Duke and our bookish and barely gentry heroine. They have sparks from the beginning and continue to challenge an

Reunited on Dragonfly Lane

Reunited on Dragonfly Lane Sweet Water Springs, Book 7 by Annie Rains ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ /5 It appears that everyone in Sweet Water Springs has found their happily ever after! Or at least this is the last one we will get, since this is the final instalment of the series. I may have come into the series later than others, but the characters and love stories that Annie Raines has created in this fictional town have completely captivated me and Chase and Sophie were no exception from that rule! A chance accident has Sophie hitting a puppy with her car on the way to a friends wedding… thankfully Sweet Water Springs is a small town and the local vet, also in route to the wedding pulls over to help… not so thankfully when said veterinarian is your ex high school sweetheart that you have been avoiding since his return to town! Now with a healing puppy linking their fates, Chase and Sophie take this opportunity to see if a second chance at love is in the cards for them…  With many years and di

Capturing the Earl

Capturing the Earl Wallflowers of West Lane, Book 3 by A. S. Fenichel ⭐⭐⭐⭐ /5 After the high tension of the last book in the series, this was a fun romp!  The Wallflowers of West Lane are still thick as thieves and no man will pull them asunder… even when he courts one, the lovely Aurora while he is secretly in love with her friend and housemate Mercy! I love the idea of falling for the man trying to court your bestfriend! Lord Wesley Renshaw needs to marry the perfect Lady Aurora in order to attain her dower property and finally restore his ancestral lands that his great-grandfather lost… the match is perfect on paper, but his heart keeps looking at the lady’s best friend who does not have any assets and is socially below him. This was a fun read. I enjoyed the push and pull of duty and honour both Wesley and Mercy feels as they fight their feelings. This could have been awkward, since the hero is supposed to be courting the heroines friend, but our Lady Aurora has not in

Author Tirzah Price has done a great job of reinventing the setting and circumstances of the classic P&P, bringing it new life and intrigue! Flirting with Forever

Flirting with Forever A Forever Yours Novel, #3 by Cara Bastone ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ /5 Oooooh! The slow burn hurts so good!!! Cara Bastone is a master of the slow burn!  The third book in the series features many thinks that we have come to love about this series, the friend group (Mary, Sebastian and Tyler) together, great friendships and family drama. Mary’s friend from her shop has worn her down and set her up with her son… too bad when she meets him the first thing he says is that he thought she would be younger! Date officially over. Oh boy… Lucky for John, Mary is the sweetest person on earth and she accepts his apology. This starts their meandering friendship that is always tainted by their first meeting and unspoken feelings. These two have so much pulling them together and yet their pasts stand in the way of a real future together… This was another hit from Cara Bastone. Right out of the ballpark! Follow Me Under The Follow Me series, Book 2 by Helen Hardt ⭐⭐⭐ /5 The second book of the series literally picks up right where we leave Skye and Braden were left in Follow Me Darkly, with Skye questioning what could Braden have done that is so terrible as to have damaged his ex.  The cryptic warnings about Braden get under Skye’s skin and start putting her relationship and the trust between her and Braden in jeopardy… As Skye attempts to prove her trust from Braden she follows him further into his BDSM lifestyle until she takes it even too far for Braden! Enjoy the View

Enjoy the View Moose Springs, Alaska #3 by Sarah Morgenthaler ⭐⭐⭐⭐ /5 So far in this series, this was the most difficult book for me to get into… and not for want of trying.  I love the character of Easton. The strong, silent, burly mountain man capable of rescuing any damsel in distress was not a hard sell for me. Even former starlet, River Lane grew on me.  The issues I had were the excessive descriptions and technical spec that slowed down the first half of the book. If the book had stayed on the same vane, I would have given it a solid 3 stars, but once he get seriously into the climbing of Mount Vail, which is like another character in the book, and the romance starts heating up along side the mountaineering drama, the book turned around andI couldn’t put it down. Yes, the slow build up about the movie/ documentary filing in Moose Springs and all the prep to get them on the mountain seemed tedious at the time, but overall the excitement and the vivd storytelling from t

Wicked All Night

Wicked All Night Night Rebel, Book #3 by Jeaniene Frost ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5 If I didn’t want Jeaniene Frost’s Night Universe to never end, this would be a satisfying conclusion to the series and world. Ian and Veritas are back after defeating their arch nemesis, Daegon in the last book… too bad they also revealed Veritas’s other half to the Vampire Council and found out that she was promised before her conception to the demigod Phanes. Can these two ever get a break?!?!  This book will be a delight to series fans. Ian and Veritas continue their storyline line full of action, relationship and character development. After existing in the world for so long, it seems hard to think that there is still we don’t know about Ian, but there is and Veritas pulls it out of hunky batboy. These two carry this story and their others so well, that the cameo’s form the other Night Universe characters is simply gravy! I loved that the other character (and you see them ALL!!!) show up and just add to the st
