The Other Half of the Grave

The Other Half of the Grave Night Huntress, Book 1.1 by Jeaniene Frost ⭐⭐⭐⭐ /5 Over 2 years ago I was turned onto Jeanine Frost’s Night series and I was immediately a Stan! I loved all the books and obsessively read them all- some more than once! So, this re-telling of the meeting/ start for the series between Cat and Bones being told from Bones perspective was a real treat! For starters, one does not need to have read the read of the series to start here. We are given an event by event re-telling of Halfway to the Grave, but just from the MMC’s perspective, other than the MFC (Cat) as the original series perspective. I lived getting Bones’ thoughts and processes from his side. One of the main things that bothered me about the Night Huntress series was the one-sided narration. There is a lot going on in this story, so having both side of the coin revealed was very revealing. On the flip side, still reading this story from one perspective, did leave me wishing that is just told

Rules for Engaging the Earl The Widow Rules, Book #2 by Jenna MacGregor ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ /5 In the first book of the Widow Rules series we are introduced to three widowed women whom have fond out that they were all married to the same man! A sisterly bond is formed between them as they try to sort out the mess and move forward with their lives… One of the widows, Constance is pregnant by her bigamist husband and needs to find a new husband in order to legitimize her soon to be born baby. Jonathan agrees to marry Constance, but he’s not the man she once knew… in order to make this marriage work he proposes they set some rules and Constance ends up having a few of her own! This was a delicious second chance romance wrapped up in a Beauty and the Beast retelling! Jonathan’s scarred hero character was a perfect beast to Constances’s

Magic Touch

Magic Touch Witches of Windsor Series, Book #1 by A.S.Fenichel ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ /5 Magic Touch is the historical romance series starter for A.S.Fenichel’s new Witches of Windsor Series a that features witches living and practicing in regency England.  I absolutely loved this premise. Witches are pretty hot right now in contemporary romance, and I haven’t been interested in jumping in on this trend until this HR option! HR is the perfect home for withes and magic- they seamlessly blend into the time period and make the supernatural aspects believable. In this book we focus on lone witch Esme O’dwyer and Sir William Meriwether and are introduced to the rest of the Windsor Coven.  Esme and Sir William have a chance meeting when he is desperate for pain relief from a war injury and decides to tempt fate by visiting Esme apothecary for some supernatural healing… he receives more than healing and discovers that he has magic in him as well! I loved the insta love/ slow burn relationship b

Part of Your World

Part of Your World The Friend Zone, Book 4 by Abby Jimenez 🎧Narrated by Julia Whelan; Zachary Webber ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ /5 Is it possible to capture lightning in a bottle again and again?  Well for Abby Jimenez it seems to be! Her latest book, Part of Your World delivered everything I was looking for AGAIN! I experienced all the ranges of emotions while reading. From laughter, giddiness, awkwardness, anger, fear, and anxiety as I fretted over the characters HEA. (Ps. Thanks the gods for HEA’s - I wouldn’t have survived without it!) This story feels like the novelization of Billy Joel’s Uptown Girl- your classic class difference romance, but Abby brings it up a notch but comparing and contrasting so many aspects of the characters. Healthy relationships vs unhealthy, differing support systems, family obligations and legacies… Alexis and Daniel couldn’t be more different and yet so the same and perfect for each other! Beyond the amazing relationship story we are also given a realistic

The Date from Hell

The Date from Hell by Gwenda Bond ⭐⭐⭐⭐ /5 Not Your Average Hot Guy by Gwenda Bond was a sleeper hit for me last year, so I was looking forward to reading the sequel, The Date from Hell! Callie and Luke (son of the Devil) are back and have been dating for a few months now. They have a romantic weekend ahead of them, in which they plan on taking their relationship to the next level… Too bad Callie’s mom and the Devil have other plans in mind for them! Callie’s mom is expecting her to pull her weight at the family escape room business, while the Devil puts Callie and Luke on a 72 hour quest to see if the residents from Hell deserve redemption! This was a fun romp! I loved seeing Callie and Luke working together again and the cool places their quest takes them to! If your looking for a light hearted, fun romance- grab these books! Though they appear to be a duology, you can read the latest release with out reading the first. BUT I highly recommend reading other- they build up

The Memory of Her

The Memory of Her The Gentleman Spy Mysteries, Book 3 by Bianca M. Schwarz ⭐⭐⭐💫 /5 The third book of Schwarz’s Gentleman Spy Mysteries brings back more familiar characters! I was pleasantly surprised to see that the FMC for this book would be Eliza Broad, whom was also the FCM in the first book. That book ended with a happy for now situation with Eliza happy as the mistress and spy partner to Sir Henry March. This, while realistic, say heavily on me. So fast forward to this present book and we finally get a happily ever after for Eliza. Our HEA is hard won as Eliza is tasked to lead a mission to recuperate the returned spy captive and her former friend, Allen Strathem. Allen has alway had a tender for Eliza, but her relationship with Harry in the past prevented him from expressing his feelings, now he is returned a broken and battered man, both physically and emotionally from the torture he endured from his Russian captives… Through Eliza’s caretaking and strength leading
