1984* meets Maximum Overdrive**.

Wow- what a perfect psychological thriller for todays modern lifestyle. For a person who doesn’t want to leave the house without a charged iPhone and my Apple Watch- this book hit home!

Told mainly from the perspective of Cecelia, the stay at home mom and wife who has recently moved in the the AI centre gated community for her safety, I felt her fear and confusion as the house and accompanying AI seems to turn on her and she begins to wonder who is actually watching her.

As a culture dependant on technology and a society constantly under the lens, her fear of her lack of privacy was very relatable. Is someone listening the we talk in range of our phones microphones? What are people hearing.. and still, what are they doing with all those secrets…

I love my tech… my phone, watch and tablets… but I still have not plugged in and set up our Google home… and this book definitely has made me not want to!

I was on the edge of my seat reading this book with every page another layer was revealed. I still get goosebumps thinking about this story, it was that good!

A Woman Alone by Nina Laurin is expected to release June 23rd, 2020.

Thanks so much to Grand Central Publishing for gifting me with my review copy. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

His sisters friend, whom he had a shared experience with, the widowed Lady Helena March would be perfect! Just what his father wants and bonus-she’s not interested in marriage either! Ah, the old fake engagement! I suggest choosing someone you don’t actually like if you don’t want to end up married for real in the end! I jest! Max and Helena make a perfect pairing… so perfect the only thing that seems to be keeping them from actually being engaged in truth is the long distanced nature of ...
