Satan’s Angel

Satan’s Angel

by Candace Camp

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5

This western has it all! Bandits, Rangers, ranchers and bounty hunters… the only thing missing was a reliable chaperon!

I have been entranced by historical western romances for a little while now, and this one is tops in my book. I loved that both sides of the law were represented and received HEA’s!

After surviving an Apache attack that killed her whole family, Amy is raised with her cousin, Victoria and her father. These cousins are best of friends, but couldn’t be more opposite in likeness and personality. Amy is light in features and has a docile, almost childlike temperament, while Vikki is dark haired and known for taking charge and leading others.

When they travel away from Vikki’s fathers ranch to attend a wedding in the accompaniment of a family friend as chaperone, things start to spiral out of control quickly! The chaperone is injured at a stop, requiring the girls to go about unescorted… then they run in to a Texas Ranger and a famous outlaw in a way that changes the course of the lives for all four of them!

Wow, two intertwined romances race forward in this tale duking it out to see who will have the HEA, the law man or the outlaw, for only one can come out of this alive? Or can they???

This story had me on my toes the whole time. I was easily attached to all the characters, which were all given a chance at telling the narrative. This was an exciting tale of right and wrong and the grey in between, and I couldn’t recommend it any more!

Satan’s Angel by Candace Camp was re-released July 2020, originally released October 1988.

I received a complimentary copy of this ebook from the author. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

The Gunslinger’s Guide to Avoiding Matrimony By Michelle MacLean ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 The follow up to Michelle MacLean’s Hitched to the Gunslinger, The Gunslinger’s Guide to Avoiding Matrimony is finally here and the citizens of Desolation are up to more shenanigans! Running from the law retired gunslinger/gambler Adam Woodson stumbled upon the town of Desolation. His timing is perfect and he walks right into the mess groom selection/ wedding ceremony for the town and ends up married to spinster Nora. Nora hadn’t planned on picking a groom, but Adam will suit her purpose nicely- she only needs a husband long enough to inherit her property… too bad Adam has no intention of being that husband! Now the rules of Desolation state a man must marry or find a job… so Adam starts trying his hand at all the jobs, while Nora attempts to woo him to sign the marriage papers. In general this is a cute and funny premise, but Adam’s insistence that he can’t/won’t marry is too much. I felt for Nora and her inse...
