Any Rogue Will Do

Misfits of Mayfair, Book 1

by Bethany Bennett

⭐⭐⭐⭐ /5

She broke his heart, he ruined her reputation… years later, can these two come together and repair both of them?

Ethan, Lord Amesbury, wasn’t raised for a life in the ton, and now that he has inherited he lives on the outside of the toning resents those you shun his humble beings… Lady Charlotte was one of those. She and her father spurred his suit years ago and he hasn’t looked back. So why has a chance encounter have him thinking about her constantly and wanting the repair the damage he did to her reputation after she refused his suit???

Lady Charlotte had felt a connection to Lord Amesbury from their first dance at a ball, but those feeling were dashed after he failed to show up at he promised time to officially start their courtship, and instead slanders her name! Year later when an accident requires the assistance of the patrons at a roadside inn, she is astounded to find Ethan and have him lead the charge in her rescue attempt!

Reunited, these two black sheep of the ton gang up to lend credibility to Lord Amesbury and find him investors for his new endeavour and stave off an arranged marriage for Lady Charlotte. The easiest solution: a fake engagement!

I really enjoyed this first novel by Bethany Bennett. Her writing had a great flow and I was hooked from the beginning. Charlotte and and Ethan’s characters had a logical development and their relationship followed course. One of my personal highlights form this book was Lady Agatha, Charlottes god-mother. She was a hoot!

I’m excited to read Cal’s story (Ethan’s BF) int he next instalment in the series!

Remember Love

Remember Love Ravenswood series, Book 1 by Mary Balogh ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ /5 Historical romance queen, Mary Balogh introduces us to another brilliant extended family and reminds up to remember love in one swoop with this series opener! First off, this epic second chance romance gave me pure romantic chills that were remittent to reading Jane Austen’s Persuasion. Her beautiful storytelling and detailed descriptions and character building really immersed me into this story and made me root for second chances and love! Childhood neighbours, Devlin Ware and Gwyneth Rhys never know the other felt the same attraction and pull towards the other until the stars aligned at the neighbourhood fete and they finally discover their mutual affection… but they were not mean to be young lovers, since family scandal befalls Devin and he is banished from his family home.  White no where to go and a determination to shed his innocence and become a man, he enlist in a foot regiment… and stays away at war ...

White Knight Needed

White Knight Needed Reluctant Heroes, Book 2 by Betina Krahn ⭐⭐⭐⭐ /5 Barclay Howard is bigger and burlier than your average gentleman… and thus he has found himself to be somewhat of an antidote to the fairer sex. As a result he is more often found behind the pages of his Ivanhoe novel than out and about attempting to court a fair lady. But when his path crosses with down on her luck Norah Capshaw, his white knight complex rises up to make him go above and beyond again and again to be her hero… even though she is incredibly reluctant to the idea! This was a fun adventure romance filled with roadside hijinks, and a family mystery. Barclay was a perfect hero in this book. He was always there offering support and rescue to Norah. On the other side Norah’s resistance of Barclay and his efforts was the only wet blanket on this otherwise delightfully sweet romance!   Overall, this is my second Betina Kran book and I find her writing very light hearted and action packed. A Duke for Miss Townsbridge

A Duke for Miss Townsbridge The Townsbridges, Book 4 by Sophie Barnes ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ /5 Sophie Barnes is a master at the novella! Every time I read one of her novellas, it is just perfect! Characters that are developed and graphics you, quick flowing plots to move the story and an ending to delight! As a duke, Matthew believes he should be able to marry anyone he decides on… and he decides that the perfect bride to fit into his unconventional life is his neighbour, Sarah. Since Sarah has never even met Mathew before his proposal, she decides that a courtship is needed before she make up her mind! I was was immediately invested in the non-traditional courtship between nearly on the shelf Sarah, and her reclusive duke for a neighbour Matthew. The determination and genuine personalities of both characters carries this book off effortlessly and would leave me wanting for more if the story had not been finished up so neatly! I adore a good romance novella and liken it to the perfect bite ...
