Dream a Little Dream

Dream a Little Dream

Sunshine Valley, Book 3

by Melinda Curtis

⭐⭐⭐ /5

Darcy Jones has had a busy year… she has broken up with her childhood sweetheart, married her mentor, become a widow and is now stepping into her deceased husbands robes and taking up the town judgeship. SO, all she needs I her redo working ex boyfriend back in town to add more drama to her life!

Jason Petrie has regretted his mistakes ever since Darcy left him last year… he is willing to do whatever it takes to get her back. With the help of the local Widows league, his agent, his best friend and a gaseous pug he will ensure that he doesn’t add to Darcy’s troubles, but lightens her load. He will be the man she needs and hopefully her future.

I found Jason and the town of Sunshine Valley cute and welcoming, but Darcy was a bit of an enigma. She had a very chameleon like personality and she was trying to find her colours in this new position she has found herself in. In doing so, she pushes away from people who care about her and gives too much to those who don’t. It was hard to read her struggling on her own.

In the end, this was sweet romance where I found myself rooting for the hero to win back his love and fix all her problems from the get go, only to find that they get there in the end, but the road has many bumps in it!

Dream a Little Dream by Melinda Curtis is scheduled to release February 23rd, 2021.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Forever Grand Central Publishing. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

First off, this epic second chance romance gave me pure romantic chills that were remittent to reading Jane Austen’s Persuasion. Her beautiful storytelling and detailed descriptions and character building really immersed me into this story and made me root for second chances and love! Childhood neighbours, Devlin Ware and Gwyneth Rhys never know the other felt the same attraction and pull towards the other until the stars aligned at the neighbourhood fete and they finally discover their mutual affection… but they were not mean to be young lovers, since family scandal befalls Devin and he is banished from his family home.  White no where to go and a determination to shed his innocence and become a man, he enlist in a foot regiment… and stays away at war ...

The Gunslinger’s Guide to Avoiding Matrimony

The Gunslinger’s Guide to Avoiding Matrimony By Michelle MacLean ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 The follow up to Michelle MacLean’s Hitched to the Gunslinger, The Gunslinger’s Guide to Avoiding Matrimony is finally here and the citizens of Desolation are up to more shenanigans! Running from the law retired gunslinger/gambler Adam Woodson stumbled upon the town of Desolation. His timing is perfect and he walks right into the mess groom selection/ wedding ceremony for the town and ends up married to spinster Nora. Nora hadn’t planned on picking a groom, but Adam will suit her purpose nicely- she only needs a husband long enough to inherit her property… too bad Adam has no intention of being that husband! Now the rules of Desolation state a man must marry or find a job… so Adam starts trying his hand at all the jobs, while Nora attempts to woo him to sign the marriage papers. In general this is a cute and funny premise, but Adam’s insistence that he can’t/won’t marry is too much. I felt for Nora and her inse...

The Lady Tempts the Heir

The Lady Tempts the Heir The Gilded Age Heiresses, Book #3 by Harper St. George ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5  Max Crenshaw has been summoned back to England for the third time… in the past it was over drama with his sisters and his parents matchmaking schemes… now his father is ill and has his sights set on his legacy. It’s Max’s turn to marry! But Max isn’t going to just heed his father’s demands- he’s his own man and it’s a modern (Gilded) age! Solution: he will find a fake fiancée to cease his threats. His sisters friend, whom he had a shared experience with, the widowed Lady Helena March would be perfect! Just what his father wants and bonus-she’s not interested in marriage either! Ah, the old fake engagement! I suggest choosing someone you don’t actually like if you don’t want to end up married for real in the end! I jest! Max and Helena make a perfect pairing… so perfect the only thing that seems to be keeping them from actually being engaged in truth is the long distanced nature of ...
