Act Your Age, Eve Brown

Act Your Age, Eve Brown

The Brown Sisters, Book #3

by Talia Hibert

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5

I think Eve is my favourite of the Brown sisters!

Eve Brown lives her life to the beat of her own tune… and that tune keeps changing. She doesn’t have a passion or drive like her sisters and can’t seem to find a place for herself out in the world, either with friends or career-wise. So when her latest career venture blows up in her faced she scores the whole thing, her parents tell 25 year old Eve, that they have had enough!

Eve flees her family home and drive out of the city until a quaint town catches her eye. She stops for a meal and in classic Eve form ends up with a new job as the chef for a B&B! Can she make this into something, or os this and the handsome Inn owner just another one hit wonder on the playlist of Eve’s life?

I fell for the quirky Eve from the get go! Her antics had me laughing throughout the book, and the addition of Jacob as the Strat guy in this comedy duo only made it better! These two were awkward, adorable and addictive!

This book was exceptionally entertaining, but there was a serious element as well. Jacob is on the Autism spectrum. Jacob’s neurodiversity was well represented and respectfully approached. I appreciated how this element of his character shaped who he was and Ehow that affected his relationship with Eve.

This was a fun read and I feel it really wrapped up the Brown Sister trilogy on a high note. I loved seeing the Chloe and Dani back living their HEA’s. This book can also easily be read as a standalone.

Act Your Age, Eve Brown by Talia Hibert is scheduled to release March 9th, 2021.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from HarperCollins Publishers, Avon Books through Edelweiss+. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

The Outlaw's Daughter

The Outlaw’s Daughter Haywire Bride Series #3 by Margaret Brownley ⭐⭐⭐⭐ /5 A year old stage robbery has brought Texas Ranger, Matt Taggert to the small town of Haywire. While investigating his lead he he discovers that his prime suspect died just days after the stage coach robbery and is the tow’s local hero… not only that, he has left behind a beautiful widow and 2 children. Ellie-May is no stranger to public scorn, as the daughter of an outlaw , she knows what the Rangers accusations against her deceased husband will do to her family and children. For the sake of her family, she will do anything to protect them and that includes keeping secrets and resisting the Rangers charms!  This was fun story. I loved how the romance also included the children because as a mother myself (happily married) I could never imagine being able to separate my love life from that of my family life. A new partner would definitely need to win over the kids along with me!  ...

This book was a little lighter than the first in the series, The Innkeepers Daughter, but still is heavily focused on the Snake Pit organization and their dastardly dealings.  I was surprised to see that Sir Henry was the hero agai...
