The Highlander’s Pirate Lass

The Highlander’s Pirate Lass

Brothers of Wolf Isle, Book 2

by Heather McCollum

⭐⭐⭐⭐/5

Series premise: Brothers promise to repopulate their ancestral island after a cure makes the inhabitants all leave… the only way to break the curse was for the laird’s family to find love!

I was eagerly waiting for this, The Highlanders Pirate Lass, the second book in the Brothers of Wolfe Isle series since I devoured the first book last October!!

And it did not disappoint! Highlander Beck Macquarie may not be the Laird, but he still needs to do his part to beat the curse: find love and father no ba$tards. Well that gets tougher when he finds an enticing pirate lass on an island. Eliza has been out hunting the infamous evil pirate when Beck steps into the picture and distracts her with thoughts of passion… she convinces him to give her lessons in love, even though she she is determined not to be tied down.

Now Beck must choose between his family promises and the lady he has fallen for!

This book has it all- hot Highlanders, plenty of steamy passion and high seas adventure!

I loved seeing all the bothers back together again and their camaraderie… I’m already excited to see what bother will find love next!

The Highlander’s Unexpected Proposal by Heather McCollum was released August 24th, 2021.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Entangled Publishing and NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Remember Love

Remember Love Ravenswood series, Book 1 by Mary Balogh ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ /5 Historical romance queen, Mary Balogh introduces us to another brilliant extended family and reminds up to remember love in one swoop with this series opener! First off, this epic second chance romance gave me pure romantic chills that were remittent to reading Jane Austen’s Persuasion. Her beautiful storytelling and detailed descriptions and character building really immersed me into this story and made me root for second chances and love! Childhood neighbours, Devlin Ware and Gwyneth Rhys never know the other felt the same attraction and pull towards the other until the stars aligned at the neighbourhood fete and they finally discover their mutual affection… but they were not mean to be young lovers, since family scandal befalls Devin and he is banished from his family home.  White no where to go and a determination to shed his innocence and become a man, he enlist in a foot regiment… and stays away at war ...

The Gunslinger’s Guide to Avoiding Matrimony

The Gunslinger’s Guide to Avoiding Matrimony By Michelle MacLean ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 The follow up to Michelle MacLean’s Hitched to the Gunslinger, The Gunslinger’s Guide to Avoiding Matrimony is finally here and the citizens of Desolation are up to more shenanigans! Running from the law retired gunslinger/gambler Adam Woodson stumbled upon the town of Desolation. His timing is perfect and he walks right into the mess groom selection/ wedding ceremony for the town and ends up married to spinster Nora. Nora hadn’t planned on picking a groom, but Adam will suit her purpose nicely- she only needs a husband long enough to inherit her property… too bad Adam has no intention of being that husband! Now the rules of Desolation state a man must marry or find a job… so Adam starts trying his hand at all the jobs, while Nora attempts to woo him to sign the marriage papers. In general this is a cute and funny premise, but Adam’s insistence that he can’t/won’t marry is too much. I felt for Nora and her inse...

The Lady Tempts the Heir

The Lady Tempts the Heir The Gilded Age Heiresses, Book #3 by Harper St. George ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5  Max Crenshaw has been summoned back to England for the third time… in the past it was over drama with his sisters and his parents matchmaking schemes… now his father is ill and has his sights set on his legacy. It’s Max’s turn to marry! But Max isn’t going to just heed his father’s demands- he’s his own man and it’s a modern (Gilded) age! Solution: he will find a fake fiancée to cease his threats. His sisters friend, whom he had a shared experience with, the widowed Lady Helena March would be perfect! Just what his father wants and bonus-she’s not interested in marriage either! Ah, the old fake engagement! I suggest choosing someone you don’t actually like if you don’t want to end up married for real in the end! I jest! Max and Helena make a perfect pairing… so perfect the only thing that seems to be keeping them from actually being engaged in truth is the long distanced nature of ...
